EEP Group Moves Forward in Educating Local
Administrative Executives Nationwide on Comprehensive Waste Management and
Eco-Friendly Energy Conversion
On July 20, 2023, at the Education Division Conference Room of
Phraeksa Mai Town Municipality in Samut Prakan Province, EEP Group conducted a
training session for 89 local administrative executives from across the
country. This initiative aimed to provide in-depth knowledge on comprehensive
community waste management and converting waste into environmentally friendly
electricity. The training emphasized waste separation at the source and
maximizing waste utilization to serve as a model for effective waste management
in local areas.
Ms. Chonlada Chitanong, Public Relations and Corporate Activities
Manager of Eastern Energy Plus Group Co., Ltd. (EEP Group), served as the
keynote speaker. The attendees were undergoing training on disaster prevention
and mitigation under the Local Director Training Program, organized by the
Institute for Personnel Development in Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.
The session covered key aspects of integrated waste management,
particularly the 3Rs principles: Reduce
(minimizing waste generation), Reuse
(extending the lifecycle of materials to delay waste accumulation), and Recycle
(transforming waste into new products). The training introduced EEP’s
simplified waste segregation method, which involves separating wet and dry
waste to streamline final waste disposal.
This initiative aligns with the policy of Mr. Abinash Magi, CEO of
Eastern Energy Plus Group Co., Ltd. (EEP Group), who envisions educating the
people of Samut Prakan on waste segregation at home and achieving Zero
Waste Management, ultimately transforming the province into a waste-free region.
Additionally, the training session highlighted innovative waste
repurposing techniques. The instructors demonstrated how certain dry waste
materials—such as glass bottles, aluminum cans, and wood scraps—can be
repurposed into Keycone garden beds.
They also introduced the Food Waste Garden,
created from repurposed plastic water tanks, for growing household vegetables.
Furthermore, participants learned how to convert food waste into organic
fertilizer, promoting sustainable home gardening and reducing household food
expenses.
The event was inaugurated by Mr. Amnuay Boonriew, Mayor of Phraeksa
Mai Town Municipality, along with his executive team. The session received
enthusiastic engagement from attendees, who expressed interest in applying the
acquired knowledge to improve waste segregation and utilize waste efficiently
in their daily lives.
